Service ProvidersService Providers of the GIS Consortium offer specialized products often required by member programs.

The Consortium out-sources highly specialized components of GIS that can be more efficiently performed by the private sector. The criterion for out-sourcing includes cost, risk, accountability, flexibility, and efficiency.

The GIS Consortium recognizes that GIS products are a fundamental component of administering local government organizations. In addition, they recognize that communities are users of this technology and not necessarily developers.
